Ladies Hike

A few ladies from my ward decided to go hiking.  It was a perfect hike to beat the 106 degree heat that had been plaguing us during the week.  The hikes was 5.6 miles.  I was on strict instructions from Wesley that I could only do the downhill part.  That's what I did... I only did half the hike.  At first I was kind of sad to not do the entire hike with the gals, but when they picked me up at the beach they were exhausted.  It made me happy that I stayed at the beach relaxed, read, and people watched!  The hike makes it way through redwood forests and beautiful streams downhill to Stinson Beach.
Everything about this trail is beautiful.
One has to scale this little ladder before continuing.  It can be a little slippery...there is a stream right next to it and since we are so close to the coast the humidity always is a factor.
All along the hike there are berries of some sort.
Little waterfalls all over the place.
The hike comes to a clearing and on a clear day much of the coast is unveiled.
Some of the fun gals I hiked with...
Holly with her cute baby bump.  She was my beach buddy since we didn't do the uphill portion.
A break for lunch on the beach.  We found a good spot to talk, laugh and people watch.
I took my shoes off to wiggle my toes through the sand.  I just love that feeling.
This guy was doing yoga poses for his friends on the beach.  It was hilarious, even though he was trying to be completely serious.
I thought this was so cute.  A mom and daughter blowing bubbles into the wind, complete with matching Patagonia jackets.
I was hoping to be more ambitious about picture taking while relaxing on the beach, but I just sat in the same place and only took pictures from that perspective.  This is about the only picture from that perspective I ended up liking.
