Going To Beaver

We travel by night.  It's kind of crazy.  We leave our house in Sac Town just as the sun is thinking about setting in our California city.  We drive past Lake Tahoe and then through the desolate Nevada desert.  There isn't much to see...maybe that's why we prefer the night travel.   We switch drivers about halfway through our 11-12 hour journey.  Then just as the sun is rising in our beautiful Utah valley we approach Beaver.
We arrive in the valley just in time to see the farmers driving to their designated posts.  Some of them going to their own farms and some of them going to the Pig Farm.  We always have to remember to turn off our brights.  We've been using them to spot jack rabbits, deer, and other wildlife (I always end up running over at least one jack rabbit during my turn of driving.  And it always breaks my heart).

It's also just in time to see the first watering of the day.  At this point I love to roll down my window and smell the newly watered hay and grass.  It smells like my childhood summertime.

The very last stretch...The "B" is now becoming visible as the sun rises above the horizon.  Just a few more minutes and we will be home.  Just a few more minutes and we'll get to close our sleepy eyes.

For just a brief second, I could smell the fields, and hear the sprinkles while looking at these pictures. I loved growing up in Beaver.
