First stop (I had to use the bathroom a lot on this trip)- Walmart in Cedar City Utah. Wes thought this was super funny/gross. Who carves a toilet seat? Wouldn't that require the carver to get way too close and in way too much contact to the toilet? We got out of Walmart as quickly as possibly. We made our way to Cafe Rio (we should have just made that potty stop there!)
We traveled the Extraterestrial Highway...spooky! (don't mind the finger covering the lens!)
One of our stops was Mono Lake. We've driven past it a couple of times without stopping. It's a cool place to stop and take in the views. I think we might have to go back and camp.
The sun setting on Mono Lake.
Wes has been growing out his hair and I really like it. He looks like such a California boy with his tye-dye shirt (I made it for him!) and his wavy longish locks of hair.
Me...25 weeks along. It was nice to get out of the car and walk around.
Wes was rubbing in the fact that I couldn't participate in our usual road trip ritual of stuffing our face with junk food due to my gestational diabetes. One reason for stopping at the above said Walmart was stocking up on the road trip food. I was able to get sugar free twizzlers (actually not so bad)
The Sonora Pass is the highest pass we go through before we make our way back to Sacramento. It is extremely high, but very beautiful. We stumbled home quite late after traveling all day. Too bad we had to wake up bright and early to get back to work. It's hard coming back to reality.
