While we were in Tsarskoe Selo we also stopped by the lesser palace- Alexander Palace. This is a much more liveable space. It's where Nicholas and Alexandra and their family lived from 1904 until they were arrested in 1917. Once again, because we read Nicholas and Alexandra by Robert Massie, this place was much more interesting. We were able to recall details from the book and place them to different locations within the palace.
