Reducing the Effects of the Thanksgiving Spread

We decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather on Saturday and hike the "B" mountain.  Only we didn't start by hiking the face of the mountain.  We hiked from the back side of the "B" mountain hoping to get to the top and then descending right on to the white-washed B.  That didn't work out so well.  We hiked to the top of the mountain, but once we got to the top we could not see the "B" anywhere.  The angle of the B just wouldn't allow us to complete our initial plan.  So we hiked along the top ridge of the mountain for a bit and then came down and around to the front of the "B".  By this time we were so tired that we opted not to go up to the "B"(just being in front of it was okay by us!).  We also opted not to go back to the start-where our car was parked (my sister later took us to retrieve it).  We walked into to town instead.  I think the entire hike that was supposed to be about 4 miles ended up being 10-12.  However, we were able to take in some great views.

We made it off the mountain just in time for sun down

We saw so many deer...probably around 20-30.

This post made me slightly homesick. I miss the wide open spaces and slower feel that our small town of Beaver possessed. Beautiful pictures.
