... but you can't take the south out of the boy (including his love for Krispy Kreme donuts). It's silly really that Sacramento does not have a Krispy Kreme shop. A few weekends ago we went all the way to Stockton just to fulfill Wes's craving of Krispy Kremes. So I came across this recipe the other day and decided to make them. They turned out really good! They didn't taste quite like the real things, but according to Wes they were a very good 2nd. If you do end up making them, beware...it takes a while and the recipe yields only 12 donuts. Next time I make them I will probably double the recipe, just to make it worth my time.
