Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants. That's the point of the book. There are many great points in this book about eating in America today. The author points out that if we were to eat as our grandparents (maybe even great-grandparents) we would be healthier. Bottom line...we (Americans) eat too much processed food. Mr. Pollan makes the case that in the effort to use science to make food, we've lost many of the nutrients that are needed to help us ward of diseases such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes. He also points out that our culture has become too distracted by other "things" that we don't give our diets much thought. We eat where we can, when we can, for as cheaply as we can. For the most part I liked the book and agree with him on many levels. There are some points in the book that are clearly his opinion without data to back it up. It is his book. I suppose he can write what he wants!
