Wes read this book last year and highly recommended it. It is a great book that stretches over the history of California. It starts with the Spainards discovering this vast land and goes all the way to Schwarzenegger's governish. Think what you will of California, but there are amazing things that have happened here in the course of history. So many important things have been invented or taken place in California. Not to mention the beautiful landscapes that make up the entire state. This was a good read and great way to find out a little more about the state where I live.
