I have wanted rain galoshes since I was in the 8th grade. I distinctly remember looking through catalogs with my best friend, Molly, and seeing them in all their glory. I think it was either the LL Bean or Eddie Bauer catalog. They were displayed in such gorgeous bright colors such as red, bright blue and my favorite yellow! Me being pragmatic (and without funds), I didn't purchase them. Ever since I have been trying to justify a reason for rain galoshes. The perfect occasion presented itself and the galoshes were immediately purchased. We are going to Russia! I can't believe I haven't mentioned that on here yet (I will have to give you the low down on how one gets a visa to the Motherland). We are going just in time, probably, for the first snow fall of the Russian winter (I'll fill you in on why we chose that particular time in full detail on a seperate post). These galoshes are going to be perfect for walking (remember, I am traveling with Wesley and we will walk...a lot), but most importantly keeping my feet dry.
They arrived today and it is kind of weird that I immediately took pictures of them. However, I have been admiring these for more years than I care to disclose. These are made in the good ol' USA in the LL Bean factory in Maine. I'll proudly wear my USA made boots in Russia!
