parade and park activities

The parade seems to be about the same every year...yet it is still so exciting to be there. Possibly, because I was always in the parade while growing up in Beaver and never being able to watch from the street sides, it makes it more fun to watch. There are always a lot of "Royalty" in town for the parade. Above is the Rodeo Royalty.
Dairy Royalty. Not pictured: Little girls Royalty from like age 2-12 and the Miss Beaver County Royalty. Our little town on parade day.
These girls did not seem too happy to be riding on a float, but they look cute in their matching outfits. A Pioneer Float from the 3rd ward.
Cool Car.
The ski resort has opened again. One of these winters Wes and I will ski there.
Wes snagged a bag of cheese curds from the Cache Valley Cheese float. This is why he comes to the parade!
All the kids are trained to know which floats will be throwing out canding. Apparently, in this shot one of those said floats is approaching!
Wes stealing candy from a child!
I think this was my favorite float this year- the Beaver Polynesian Cultural Organization. I didn't even know it existed in Beaver.
Monica- this is for you (sorry it is a little out of focus)! Dick and Sue Davis Just Married 63 years ago....cute!
This is Shoe String's van
The plane fly-over (new addition to the parade)
Last on the parade trail: The fire engine that cools everyone from the scorching heat. My dad is in the crowd with most of the grand kids waiting to get cooled off.
I need one of these shirts!
The foot races. Tyson looks forward to the foot races all year long. This year he was lining up for his age division (5 year old boys). The guy that started the races was going so fast that Tyson couldn't see his dad at the finish line, so he didn't think he could run the race unless he had someone to run to. It devastated him. The race began without him. His mom told him he could race against the 6 year old boys. He got up to the starting line with the most determined look on his face. He got a bit of a slow start, but he won! He was so proud. The rest of the day he kept retelling the story about he won the 6 year old category.
Charlotte has such good form!

Ashlee...I didn't realize Rexton was in the picture, but I see it now. That is funny! I can't believe I didn't see you at the park. I must have been out of it because I hardly saw anyone. I'm lame!
