calm before the storm

(shopping in Old Forge with these gals: Dana, Linda, Stefanie, Pam)
In the wee hours of the morning on June 24th, I made my way to the airport to begin a few days of teambuilding for work in Raquette Lake, NY. I dread teambuilding trips for a few reasons: 1. Each minute is accounted for from before the sun rises until about midnight each day 2. Wes does not get to come with me 3. It is usually over a weekend, meaning my favorite part of the week it ripped away from me. This teambuilding was no exeception to why I don't look forward to them. The reason I go is because, well, I like to get a paycheck. This teambuilding trip means a lot to the owner of the company, so I endure it.
I made it to Syracuse, NY where I met up with the Ft. Myers people. It really is great to see everyone again. That is the one thing I do like about teambuildings. We took a drive from Syracuse to Old Forge, where we spent our first night.
The next morning it was raining, which threw a hitch into the pre-determined plans. We were meant to hike Bald Mountain, but it was too slippery. So we had the option of hiking or strolling through town and shopping. I picked shopping!
We then made our way to Raquette Lake. We had to take a ferry to the little island where we would be bunking.
This ferry ride was the last calm moment of the trip. This is where I bid my weekend goodbye and started to think about the work I would be in for.
This chair is of no significance other than I really liked it and wanted to bring it home with me. It was sitting at the ferry loading dock.
