north on hwy 1

Last Saturday we spent the day with our friends, the Green's. We drove north of San Fran on Hwy 1. It is just as spectacular as the southern stretch we did the weekend before. We did a little hike on Owl Trail (where a tick found its way onto my skin...I had the great pleasure of ripping it out myself...not to worry, I don't have lyme disease). The trail started from the look-out view above and wrapped itself down to the coast line in the middle of tide pools.
I was completely entertained by nature. I loved watching the waves come in and splash over the huge rocks. As the waves would calm, the water dripped down the rocks like miniature waterfalls. Exploring this part of the world was fun. Have you ever seen starfish in their natural habitat? I don't think I had until this day. They were everywhere. I took a gazillion pictures of them. None of the pictures were as spectacular as seeing them in real life.

I love the above picture of the Green kids exploring. Here's where we ate our lunch.

This is my absolute favorite picture of the day!

You're pictures turned out awesome. I especially like the starfish partially in water. And of course I'm biased I love the picture of the kids looking at the tide pools! We had a fun time with you guys. I hope you had fun too.
