Enchanting...day #5 Norway
After a few days of camping and after the long hike, I made Wes promise that we would get a hotel for the next night. He was true to his word and we got a hotel when we arrived in Trondheim. Norwegians ride their bicycles everywhere rain, snow or sleet (probably because parking is so expensive). All over the cities of Norway there were bicycles. Very few of them were ever locked up (impressive!). They only chain up the tire, so it is kind of hard to move. In Sacramento that bike would be gone in a flash.

Trondheim wasn't my favorite city (other than the fact that I got sleep on an actual bed and have a nice hot shower!). The views from the top are once again stunning.

This is the front of a very famous Norwegian church. It is the home of Norway's crown jewels.

Another beautiful waterfall on the side of the road.
The next stop was a "must see" "enchanting" town according to our tour book. I think the author is from here because it was not as enchanting as other places we had visited. The town is Roros and is an old mining town. Okay, so the picture probably needs some explaining. Pippy Longstocking the movie was filmed in this little town. Lucky for me I was wearing my long socks and my hair was in pigtails. I felt very Pippy Longstocking-ish! And yes, I am wearing socks with sandals. And yes, I did get a lot of funny looks from the locals and tourists alike. And no, I don't regret it. I was tired of wearing my hiking shoes and my toes were cold.
Enchanting Roros.
This is the cute little cabin we found to stay at for the night. A wonderful place to relax and take in the views.
This is the view from our cabin window.
