How can something so small hurt so incredibly bad?

It's always the small things that have such an impact. Tonight I made salsa. I've done it a hundred times before. The little jalepeno pepper seed got me right in my eye. I don't remember rubbing my eye, but I highly doubt the pepper jumped from the cutting board to my pupil. My first thought was that I would be permanently blind. It hurt real bad (in the voice of Napolean Dynamite when talking about his chapped lips). If this is what it is like to be peppered sprayed, every creepy criminal deserves the pain. It took me a little over an hour for the pain to alleviate. I hope my eye returns to normal.

My eye is tearing just thinking about it. (And now I am craving salsa, so thanks.)

I grew some peppers in my garden once. The first day I picked one I was so excited to go make salsa with it. I cut it up and took a little tiny taste to see how hot they were. I'm not sure what seed packet I had picked, but they were HOT, HOT! I spit it out but unfortunately it had touched my lip - it blistered later that day and my hands burned all night from touching the pepper. Too bad, I had to forsake the whole crop!

PS I don't think your hair is too short for your hat. You really do look good in hats. Sophisticated, but fun.
